I wanted to share my experience with our recent stay at Arnold Palmer. My son was admitted for testing, everything about our stay was positive. We got a visit from Sue with guest services before my son was discharged home today. She gave my son a gift, she asked me how are stay was, if everyone kept us informed, if I had any concerns or if we wanted to acknowledge anyone specific. I responded “every person on this floor!” They were all professional, empathetic and kind. We started this journey with a pediatric neurologist at another local hospital for children. The first doctor lacked empathy and understanding. We met with Dr. Falcao, felt confident in his recommendations and proceeded with his an admission for more extensive testing Nearing the end of our stay my son and I were completely drained and anxious to see the results. What happened next was above and beyond. These souls were about to do something very special for my child. My son mentioned to one of the tech’s that he wanted to be a chief. That tech then mentioned to Sue what he aspired to do when he grew up. She got in touch with the head Chef, Chef Kevone. He came up to our room to visit us. He spoke to my son and encouraged him. He then did something for my son that will stay with me for life. Chef Kevone brought back a chefs hat, signed by his staff. His kindness was a sign that everything is going to be ok. My son was emotional he had tears in his eyes and love in his heart. He didn’t know what to say. He asked how can I thank him. I told him one day we will pay it forward because that how kindness works. “Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.” —Bob Kerrey.

No availability for new patients. The evaluation specialist insulted my intelligence within 5 minutes of the evaluation made me feel bad about homeschooling. Evaluation started 10 minutes late and waiting room was completely packed which overstimulated my son too many noises and people in one small area.My son has ADHD he is on high end and Autism. ADHD causes short attention span. The specialist was trying to imply it was because he homeschool that he has short attention span. Now my son had a lot of trouble in public schools. There was even an incident where one of teachers lost him and he was found outside of school unattended. Also he needs so many health services that it would cause him to miss to many days in public schools. I had to choose a online academy that can work with his needs to see therapist and doctors. Also the rooms where jammed packed with toys which made it hard for my son to concentrate on the evaluation he was more focused on the toys than the steps to complete the evaluation. My son got over stimulated and just wanted the toy. My son is a teenager and the desk and furniture was way too small for him. I didn't really see any accommodations for teens. Seems like an office for very young children. The desk where only made for toddlers. Now my son went to this office for a few years when he was younger and it was little more better. I'm really looking for place to take my son with the right accommodations and none judgemental health care professionals. After being on waiting list for few years I get evaluation but no availability for 2 months unless someone cancels. I was looking to start in May but schedule is completely booked for April and May and no available spots. In this facility I was told the kids do not see the same speech therapist and I was looking for a facility where my son can have one speech therapist that can work with my son overtime to assure that he gets proper treatment. I think I will be better off trying another place.

This hospital is great but I wanted to point out the girls in the children's room. I'm assuming they are here to play and help the kids color. Their gossip talk seemed more important. Both of them barely acknowledged any of the children.

Been going here 3 years now after our daughters stroke! They are amazing. She has worked with Nicole for ot and she is incredible at her job! She has had mostly Molly for pt and is so sad to be discharged from pt because she loved going to see Molly. She is incredible at her job too! They have been beyond helpful and amazing to our family! Best place to go for kids therapies!

We absolutely love this amazing Rehabilitation Facility! From the front desk to our dedicated therapists, they have all been so helpful and sweet. Ms. Rachel (OT) and Ms. Lena (PT) are truly God sent. They have showed so much love and care to our little WonderWoman. They are not afraid of her medical condition/equipment and truly works hard to give her the best quality of life possible. Thank you!
